The print has been processed in the studio of German photographer Thomas Benzinger in Stuttgart, in the begining of 19th century.
At that time, photo paper was not very common. Photographers spread the photosensitive materials onto a glass plate in the darkroom and then followed the process of exposure, development, and fixing.

The photo shows a general view of the shore of Thessaloniki (Saloniki Gesamtansicht as it is written in german), in which we can see the White Tower with its perimetric fortification wall, before it was demolished in 1911.
It is part of the collection of Angelos Papaioannou and is exhibited at the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle in Thessaloniki.
